The third annual Redish Rocks on the Docks is coming this weekend to Port Orford, Saturday April 19th from 11am-5pm. The purpose of this event is to provide the Port Orford fishing fleet and the south coast community with the opportunity to learn about the research happening at Redfish Rocks.
Come and join us…
- · Oregon Department of Fishand Wildlife will have underwater video footage, information on research activities, and volunteer opportunities!
- · Fishtracker project (Tom Calvanese, OSU) will be presenting some of his research findings in tracking adult fish movement at Redfish Rocks. As well, he will be providing insight into OSU’s newest research project, tracking larval (baby) fish!
- · SurfriderFoundation representative Gus Gates will be there to engage the community on beach stewardship and ocean health initiatives. Come learn more about this organization and how you can get involved in protecting Oregon public beaches and waves.
- · Redfish Rocks Community Team, and Port Orford Sustainable Seafood will be there to represent and present on local Port Orford initiatives, projects, citizen science and volunteer opportunities.
