Student from Pacific High School (PHS) continue their work surveying Native Little Neck clam shells in the intertidal zone at Retz Creek, just outside the Redfish Rock Marine Reserve. The project is a partnership between The Redfish Rocks Community Team, Surfrider Foundation and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, aimed at engaging youth in meaningful citizen science projects that could potentially inform research at the professional level.
The third annual Redish Rocks on the Docks is coming this weekend to Port Orford, Saturday April 19th from 11am-5pm. The purpose of this event is to provide the Port Orford fishing fleet and the south coast community with the opportunity to learn about the research happening at Redfish Rocks.

The 2012-2013 Port Orford Blue Water Task Force (BWTF) Report is out! The report includes a brief summary of all BWTF community testing efforts during the 2012-2013 school year and educational highlights from the program in and around the Stewardship Area and Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve.

Hello folks, 4H and Surfrider Foundation are collaborating to offer a two day surf camp from June 22 to June 23. The camps will be half days with instruction, surfing time, science presentation, snacks, stewardship activity and all the kids go home with some Surfrider swag, a 4H Surfrider beach towel and the stoke to surf!

The sixth annual Port Orford Water Festival is coming this April 12-13, 2013. Visit the festival site to learn more about this year’s program that includes keynote speaker Jessica Miller, surf lessons from A Warm Current, cool interactive booths and more! It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the Redfish Rocks marine reserve and the connections our actions on land have to those precious nearshore resources within the reserve.
